Recently I officiated a wedding for a couple at Blackhaven Gardens. The groom had told of his excitement over finding someone to videotape his wedding at a very affordable rate. After meeting this videographer, I asked her to do a write up about wedding videography and a little about her services. Here is Noelle’s article:
Nine years ago, I met my match. Eight years ago, we married. While there are parts of the day I will never forget, like the huge green arrow he painted on his ring finger so I would know which finger to put the ring on, there are parts of the day that over time have become a blur. Fortunately, I had a family member video our big day. After our honeymoon, I combined the wedding and honeymoon video into a nice little “package” that we can watch and remember the fun we had or even show our children.
A lot of people may wonder if a video is worth it. You will most likely have a still photographer there, so do you really need to have a video camera rolling the entire time? Looking back on my wedding, here are the biggest benefits I’ve discovered:
• remembering every moment, not just the big ones
• remembering what you said and what you were feeling
• seeing your big day through your future spouse’s eyes
• being able to watch your guests arrive, excited and eager, and hear their thoughts and well-wishes
Photographs capture the still moments, but a video will capture your thoughts, your feelings, and those behind the scenes moments that tend to escape us over time. You’ll be able to relive your special day anytime and with anyone – family or friends who were unable to attend and or those you may not have met yet.
If you decide to video your wedding, I will cater the video to your wants and needs. It can be as much or little as you want. You can get everything from your arrival to final wave; interviews with family members and guests, your future spouse, and yourself; and the first dance and bouquet toss. The video will be yours and it will be affordable.
I still watch my video and love the look on my husband’s face when I finally saw the green arrow. It takes me back to that day with such strong feelings of joy and love. Now, I want to share my gift of videography and editing with other couples.
